Forest Trail

Monet once said, “I neglect the rules of painting in order to do what I feel.” In the same spirit, as I walked through the forest one day, the more I walked the more I became concerned with the ‘feel’ than the ‘real,’ the more I was captivated by the suggested form of trees than by their actual shapes. By remaining mindful of how I felt, I preconceived this impressionistic image in my mind. I then purposely composed the composition and carefully set about creating this textured and painterly photograph. This photographic montage is comprised of 16 hand held exposures on film, each out of register with the others. Trail to Indianpoint Lake in Bowron Lake Park.
